Our Judean Desert, the Dead Sea, Ein Gedi and Masada Tour
An electrifying twenty-minute downward drive from Jerusalem to the Judean Desert and then to the lowest spot in the world.
We’ll start our tour by overlooking the city of Jericho, one of the first cities in the world, and the first city captured by the Children of Israel after leaving Egypt.
If we feel adventurous, we will continue with a short camel ride and meet with our forefather Abraham’s servant, Eliezer, in Eretz Bereshit. From there, we will continue our drive to the lowest place on earth, the Dead Sea.
Our next stop will be one of the oases along the shores of the Dead Sea, either at the foot of Einot Tzukim or the beautiful Nahal David. Both of these sites are blessed with clear, sweet running water, just a short distance from the coast of the saltiest sea in the world.
After enjoying the magnificent view and a quick swim in the pools of one of the nature reserves on the way, we will continue our drive to Masada.
Due to the unwillingness of the Jewish residents of the fortress to succumb to the Roman army – even at the cost of their lives – Masada has become one of the best-known legends of Jewish heroism. We will go up to the mountain fortress by cable car and learn the amazing story of what happened here almost 2,000 years ago.
