The Golan Heights is the northernmost part of the State of Israel. This region was witness to battles during the Six Day War in 1967 and the Yom Kippur War in 1973 and to Jewish life during the times of the Mishna and the Talmud. The entire area bounds with ancient and modern Jewish settlement and nature reserves.
We recommend spending at least one day in the Golan – preferably two. During our trip we will visit the highest mountain in Israel, Mt. Hermon, from where we will be able to see large parts of both Israel and Syria, and stroll through ancient Jewish villages and synagogues dating back to the Mishnaic and Talmudic eras in Katzrin, Gamla and El-Kantir.
Tel Saki and Mount Bental will tell us the story of modern battles that were fought to save the State of Israel, while various springs and streams will allow us to enjoy the beauty of nature.
This tour can also include visits to boutique wineries and fruit orchards where we will be able taste from the delicious produce of the Golan Heights.
