Ein Gedi is a beautiful oasis located on the shores of the Dead Sea.
Looking at the arid view of the Dead Sea it is hard to imagine that there are any corners of paradise.
One of these wonderful places is the Ein Gedi oasis. The source of abundance in this oasis is three sweet springs that create two streams, Nahal David and Nahal Arugot.
These streams today are particularly popular nature reserves, as already in the nearby parts of the entrance are amazing waterfalls that are accessible to everyone. For those who enter a little further in, awaits nature and a combination of desert landscape along with the green of an oasis.
In Ein Gedi, one of the familiar stories in the Bible occurred in which King David was hiding in a cave while King Saul searched for him.
The weather in the area is very hot in summer but the chilly water makes the visit enjoyable even on the hottest days. Winter is the best time to visit the area because even in those days in Jerusalem it can snow, here the temperature will be around 70 degrees.
For those who have little time, I recommend entering the David stream tour which can take between half an hour and half an hour. If you have more time and stamina, you can spend a day on the higher trails of the reserve.
Don’t forget to bring comfortable clothes for walking and a swimsuit.
I usually combine a visit to Ein Gedi for families as part of a private tour of the Dead Sea and Masada.
